About

I wanted a perfect ending.

Now I've learned the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle and end.
Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.
Delicious Ambiguity.

ABOUT US

The brand is rooted in the notion of simplicity, that the laws of the universe will be simpler if you simplify your life. They capture the effortless, natural beauty of tribal and folk modes of dressing that are practical and decorative, personal and symbolic. Working with natural fibres and fabrics, the brand brings together the most luxurious elements of India's sartorial traditions.

It reiterates them into designs that capture a delicious ambiguity, a sense of controlled chaos. Asymmetry and layering emerges as a key marker of Aseem Kapoor's style. The result is a spirit, part urban and part folk that strikes a poetic balance between shadow and light.

The brands launched with a womeswear collection for Fall 2020, and plans to expand into menswear, home, and Yoga lines in the near future.

ASEEM KAPOOR

About the Creative Director

After graduating in fashion design from the national institute of fashion technology (Mumbai) in 2003, Aseem Kapoor went on to work with couturier Tarun Tahiliani's design atelier, overseeing both ready-to-wear and menswear collections. He launched his eponymous label in year 2020, and describes the brands' identity as being embedded in the delicious ambiguity of the human experience. Through his designs and techniques, Aseem explores the notions of right and wrong, what's OK and what's not, and challenges long-held belief systems. More than being just a design label, aseem aims to make the brand a platform for people from all walks to come together-through their writing, art and design - and discuss the challenges and triumphs. And it is these lived experiences that Aseem tries to translate into garments and designs that tell stories.
